Degenerative disc disease is a wear and tear changes taking place in the back. It usually attributed to aging process. Degenerative disc disease is not limited to elderly population alone.
It can start from younger population as well just as developing a grey heir can be found in the younger age group. It usually develops dues to the disc in the spine losing its water content and become less flexible. This process leads to joint stiffness, pain and weakness of back muscles and abdominal muscles.
In our clinic, we work with the patient to restore the flexibility of the joints of the back, improve the strength of your back muscles as well as core abdominal muscle strength. One of the common findings in this condition is the lack of endurance of back muscles leading to early fatigue with subsequent painful back. We will work together to design coping strategies to manage this type of pain.
