Mechanical Low Back and Neck Pain

Acute low back pain can be caused by many factors such as injuries. Such injuries sometimes affect the discs (causing sciatica), muscles, ligament and joints of the back. Sciatica is the pain that is spread to the buttocks or leg depending on the level of discs that are affected. Inadequate managing of the acute low back pain could lead to ongoing pain/chronic pain. We offer thorough assessment and apply prompt treatment to manage the pain as well as prevent it from becoming chronic. Our method of assessment involves finding out the source of pain particularly to determine if the pain is mechanical (due to muscles, disc, or joint of the back). Treatment is therefore directed towards the appropriate structures. We also provide information to our patient on ways to minimise re-injuring of the back.
